Reddit adds a campaign planner, an optimisation score and budget optimisation for advertisers.
Reddit is rolling out a campaign planner and an optimisation score to all advertisers through October, plus automated budget allocation across ad groups.
Reddit has introduced three tools for planning and running ad campaigns: a campaign planner, a campaign optimisation score and campaign budget optimisation.
Reddit announced them on its Reddit for Business blog on 20 October 2026, saying the updates are meant to make it easier for advertisers of all sizes to plan, manage and optimise campaigns.
Campaign planner and the optimisation score are rolling out to all advertisers on Reddit through October. Campaign budget optimisation is available now on the Awareness and consideration and Traffic objectives, and in beta on the Sales, Lead generation and App promotion objectives.
What each tool does
Campaign planner builds a media plan with projected reach, impressions and costs. Advertisers can compare versions of a plan across budgets, audiences, objectives and placements, then turn the chosen plan into a draft campaign. It also carries two features powered by Reddit Community Intelligence: engagement insights, which show how consistently and recently an audience has been active on Reddit, and conversation summaries, which surface the dominant themes across the subreddits a campaign targets. Reddit says these insights are there to inform creative that feels genuine.
The campaign optimisation score gives each campaign a rating from 0 to 100% with recommendations while it is being created or edited. Reddit says advertisers scoring 80% or higher saw 19.6% lower blended CPA than advertisers with lower scores, and that a 5 point increase in the score was associated with a 4.4% lower blended CPA. Both figures come from Reddit internal data for July to September 2026.
Campaign budget optimisation sets budgets and bids at campaign level and shifts spend automatically towards the best performing ad groups, so advertisers no longer adjust spend across ad groups by hand. Reddit says advertisers using it for traffic saw 10% lower CPCs, from a Reddit internal study in Q4 2025.
What Reddit has not said
All three figures are Reddit’s own historical internal averages, and the post states that results are not typical and may vary by campaign. It gives no date for the beta objectives leaving beta.
What it means for brands
The conversation summaries put the dominant themes of the targeted subreddits in front of whoever plans the campaign, before any creative is written. That makes the planner a research step as well as a budgeting one. This week, check whether campaign planner has reached your account, and if it has, run it on the subreddits you already target and compare its conversation summaries with what your community team sees in those threads.
