Threads adds podcast banners, episode cards and insights.
Meta rolled out six podcast tools on Threads on 16 September, including profile banners, tappable episode cards, guest posts and Podcast Insights.
Threads has added a set of podcast tools for creators and listeners, rolling out from 16 September, Meta announced.
Podcast creators can now show a banner for their show across their profile and their posts, feature a chosen episode with an episode picker, and have podcast links appear as a tappable card rather than a plain link.
Creators can also post standout moments as transcript, video and guest card posts, and opt in to an automatic reminder from Threads to share each new episode. A new Podcast Insights view shows the reach and engagement Threads is driving for a podcast, including clicks and saves. For listeners, episodes seen in the feed can now be saved. Meta says more tools are to come and has named no markets or eligibility rules; the post says the features roll out today.
What has and has not been said
The announcement gives no numbers for podcast activity on Threads, saying only that people are already connecting around podcasts there. There is no mention of audio playing inside Threads, of a podcast directory, or of any change to how podcast posts are ranked. The insights are described as showing what Threads drives for a podcast, including clicks and saves, rather than the engagement on any one post.
What it means for creators
If you run a podcast, Threads now gives you a show-level identity on the profile, a link that reads as a card in the feed, and an insight that says what Threads is sending to your episodes. That last part matters most, because it is the number that tells you whether the channel earns its place in the release routine.
This week, set the profile banner and pick the episode you want new followers to hit first, then turn on the new-episode reminder so the share does not depend on someone remembering. After a week of posting, read Podcast Insights and decide from the clicks and saves whether Threads stays in the routine.
