Everything Meta announced at Connect 2026.
Muse is coming to Meta’s AI glasses, $1,299 VR glasses land in spring 2027 and Ray-Ban Display is on sale in the UK. What it means for social.
Meta used Connect 2026 on 23 September to put Muse, the personal AI agent it launched on 8 September, at the centre of its hardware.
The keynote brought Muse to AI glasses, unveiled VR glasses that weigh about 100 grams and put Meta Ray-Ban Display, the glasses with a screen in the lens, on sale in the UK.
Muse already runs in its own app and in WhatsApp, rolling out in the US only. Meta has not given a UK date.
Muse comes to the glasses
Muse is coming to Meta’s AI glasses “in the coming months”. Wearers will say its name and it can act on what they are looking at, such as a product on a shelf or a flyer on a wall. Meta also showed a voice mode for long conversations while Muse keeps working in the background, and said Muse will get its own email address.
It is adding shopping connectors for Walmart, Best Buy, Gap, Sephora, Ulta, Wayfair and others, plus Shop Pay and PayPal, on top of the Shopify catalogue it launched with. Expedia is coming soon. A pocket device, Muse Charm, gets more detail later this year.
Meta VR Glasses at $1,299
The headline device puts the display and sensors in a pair of glasses and the processing, battery and storage in a pocket puck on a cable. Meta says it is the first IMAX Enhanced certified VR device, with YouTube, Prime Video, Disney+ and ESPN among the launch partners and more than 100 immersive live sports events a year. Hologram calling shows a photorealistic version of the caller and works with “whichever calling app you’re using, from WhatsApp to Zoom”. It goes on sale in spring 2027 for just under $1,300.
Ray-Ban Display reaches the UK, with Threads on the lens
Meta Ray-Ban Display went on sale in the UK and Canada on 23 September, online and in stores in London, Toronto and Vancouver, with France, Italy and Germany following on 13 October.
New features include Threads Community Feeds, which let a wearer follow curated feeds and repost threads from the glasses, mirrored phone notifications, and a voice-driven hologram for WhatsApp video calls, in early access in the US later this autumn.
New camera and audio glasses
Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) is on sale from $449 with a 12MP camera, 3K video and a new action button. Ray-Ban Meta Audio, Meta’s first audio glasses, ships on 13 October from $349, and a $249 Meta Adventurer is its cheapest pair yet. Later this year the glasses will record video with Dolby Atmos spatial sound. Meta Glasses also went on sale in the UAE, Singapore, South Korea and Mexico.
What it means for brands
The glasses are turning into a capture device: 3K video with spatial sound, shot from the wearer’s own point of view with no phone in the hand. That is creator footage a brand can brief for now.
The agent is the bigger shift. Muse looking at a shelf and buying through retailer connectors is a route from product to basket that never passes through a feed. Threads is the social feed Meta put on the lens this time. Meta did not say whether Instagram or Reels will play inside the VR Glasses; YouTube will, as a launch partner.
For a UK brand today, Ray-Ban Display is on sale and Muse is not.
